Good point, Lisa.  I have always envisioned wefts being best for those who want a lot of hair, and a short install time.  I have longer layered hair already so I really only wear 100 or so strands for fullness ( with the exception of when you did my hair and you put in 3-4 ounces which was quite a bit on top of my own...I felt like a diva when I had that much hair but then felt bald when I took them out...lol)

Anyways, I think I will install a few very small wefts with highlights to try them out myself.  Thanks!

I would say the best way to really know the pros and cons is to wear both methods yourself.

This thread interests me as i have only had strand by strand before and am really keen to try wefts!

I was more interested in advice given to clients and criteria used to either encourage or discourage one method over another...

For you professional extensionists out there, I am interested in knowing what percent of your clientele desire strand method installs vs. wefts ( pro-tac or other).  When advising your clients, what do you consider when advising them of one method over the other?
