It is very warm on the top layer and more in between on the underneath layer. My hair was professionally highlighted for years, then 2 years ago i made the mistake of using color experte 8.0. I let it grow out for a year and have been using 6n demi (clairol) and sometimes a little 6w (wella) which is too orange. The 6n goes on very dark (and wrong for my coloring) and washes out quickly. I tried 5n perm on the bangs only and it was too dark. I used colorfix twice last week and now i have orange bangs and the rest is reddish/light brown. In the sun it almost looks strawberry blonde! My hair really pulls red so I want to tone the red down. and bring the base up a level. As you can surmise, I am a real amateur but I am trying to read as much as possible.
Thank you for your help!!

If I'm a level 4-5 with orange highlights, can I use Redken EQ shades to get rid of orange and become a level 6? If so, which combo should I use? Thank you!!
