Hi Nastasska,

I never microtrim so I can't help beyond agreeing with what Susan and AS have said.

I'm going for terminal length, and I'm just about there, I think...

I rarely microtrim...mostly because I don't get time to myself. It really depends on how often you put your hair up, and how much wear and tear is put on the hair's ends. but a few microtrims, carefully spaced, will definitely prevent a bigger trim later on. Susan is right!

I'm a firm believer in trims, and the smaller the trim the more hair you get to keep.  I've done them a few times instead of big trims, taking off 1/8 inch (3mm.), and found that even that tiny amount makes a big difference in making the hair feel less tangly.  I just hold my hair up with my fingers in wide flat sections (keeping the ends how they are when they hang straight, without moving the hair) and cut across.  Taking off so little isn't going to make your hair crooked, or even hardly appear cut at all (but can give a slightly more blunt appearance).
