More Hair Experiments: Pro-10

same here corpuskristen....I wonder what the difference is between the soft yaki and nubian yaki. I imagine... and I might be wrong that the nubian would be 'more' textured than the soft yaki.

By the way....its still very pretty, and may even blend very well for someone who  has a slightly wavy/slightly frizzy or coarser texture like mine. My natural hair is pretty dry and coarse from color/ bleach etc and isnt silky smooth any more! My hair is thin and fine but not smooth at all.

amm...yeah it definitely is a soft yaki texture that you can feel when you run your fingers down the length of it. In my experiences with the thermal fibers they have all been called yaki but didnt have much of a yaki look or feel. This is a more true yaki texture. Its a pretty wide weft if thats what you mean? I havent unfolded it to see what the actual width of the weft is yet.

OK, leave it to you gals to be ahead of the power curve on all hair matters!!!

I ordered the 27/613 mix in the French Wave. It is BULK, but they didn't have the wave wefted.  What I'm looking for is a LONG synthetic that can be doubled over for heat-seal installation. The info says that the wefts are doubled over but it's sewn to the weft so that kinda defeats my purpose.

Anyway - Sherrie - how long is the hair you got??  When are you installing it?? Tell me more!!

What color hair do you have ccross (I forget ) I could send you a little of this #613 if you'd like to sample...I doubt Ill use much of the #613...too light for me!

your right ccross almost all of the thermal fiber hair that Ive tried has been called yaki...but was very very silky. This pro-10 on the other hand is more a bit coarser feeling. Ive had a chance to play with it a little and Im not quite sure what I think of it yet. It feels and looks more yaki than silky....but it is very pretty. It actually probably matches my hair texture better than the silky textures that I generally use. But Im just not sure if I like it...will probably have to actually put it on my head before Ill be able to actually say if I like or dislike it...

It curls just like human hair, does not need to be wet to curl (like the wawa) but also drops the curl as soon as water touches it...so that Im bummed about (I loved the wawa for the fact that the curls stayed in with washing)

Got mine today!! I ordered the straight and hopefully it keeps the curl through washing like the wawa! I ordered #613 and #22. The 613 is very very light, like most synthetic #613's. The #22 is perfect for me! I may have to order another package of the #22. I havent had time to untie the weft from the package, but it looks like I may need 2-3 of the 24 inch wefts. Gosh it is LONG!! I love that!  It feels a little strange to me, but then... I havent played with synthetics for awhile. Ill have to play with it a little bit later and check it out more!

This is an old subject. A while back leia posted about some "organic hair" thingie but was having trouble finding it on-line. Hair sisters is carrying Sensationnel's PRO-10 brand (endorsed by Brandy) and I just ordered some to give a try. I'm going to Atlanta next week to get heat seals done with synthetic hair but was looking for something relatively heat-resistant. (I've fried monofiber more than once as I've tried to get my own hair calmed down to "match" the beautiful synthetic hair.) I'll report more. . .hopefully this link works!!
