The first part of that page suggests as a last resort (after ColorFix) to mix your shampoo and conditioner with bleach. I'm not doubting there are instances where you may want to do that, but I think before I went that route, I'd try a stripping wash.  You can mix your shampoo half and half with baking soda and try washing with that.  It will strip all the moisture and build up out of the hair, and some of the dye, depending. You will need to condition really well afterwards to replace lost moisture.
