i removed some the other day- i put amms orange oil along the entire tape- worked it in a bit, then i ate a salad
came back to her took my rat tail comb and moved her hair off of the tape and then just peeled the whole take right off, slide right out- then i pulled the tape off the weft, took some talc powder sprinkled it on my comb, and combed thru her hair, any residue came out and then i reinstalled the weft right back in with new tape, tooka total of 20 mins!
Don't worry about my experience. Everything I try with my hair goes
freakishly badly for me when it works out just fine for everyone else. You'd
think I sold my head to the devil or something...
As far as I know, no-one else had had any trouble with it?

The orange oil has worked just fine for 2 of my take downs. I have not used anything else. I also had no residue on my hair, just a little bit on the wefts, and what I couldn't pick off, I just left and re-installed. Don't be scared, it will all work out ok for you.
ok. wait! I was under the impression that Amm's orange oil will take these things out with no problem. No goo coated hair mentioned. One of my clients agreed to be a model so I have installed already and she loves them. When the time comes to take them out, am i supposed to soak her head in olive oil after I have slid out the wefts? Or do I just let her sit with conditioner on her head (any particular type work better?) and then slide out the wefts (no orange oil?). What has worked best for you ladies? Now I am getting worried. Are the pro tact tapes too good to be true?

Ooh, I never thought of trying to dry it out. I will keep that in mind next
time. I did finally get it all out with multiple olive oil soaks followed by dish
soap scrubbings.
I was actually cursing myself during this whole fiasco for not trying
conditioner first since it ocurred to me that it might be a less gummy way of
removing it! haha Hindsight is 20/20

Second Kalika on the cornstarch. Last bad take down I had, I used tons of baby powder on my head and all the gunk balled up so that I could comb it out.

I took mine out with regular conditioner, there was no gumminess at all, try that next time chick. I think oil is the only way you'll get this stuff out this time now though x
Yeah this isnt like any residue I've had before. I've combed the heck out of it
with both the orange oil and I've tried the LG remover. Its actually improving
now, I soaked it with olive oil and just washed it again 3 times with dish
soap. Its not back to normal by any means but it's improving.
Its not like clumps or even little blobs... it's like a gummy coating. its yukky :

I swear nothing is ever simple for me! My pro-tac falls out, my Bohyme
tangles and now this! typical!

I have never had any residue on my hair after a take down. I guess I would suggest soak the hair in the orange oil and take a fine toothed comb and slowly comb down the length. As for the weft, I have has some gummy stuff, and what I couldn't pick off or rub off, I just left and re-installed. I have not had any problems with it after installation.
Ok, I am in the middle of taking down my first successful protac install, and
what at first seemed like a really easy take down is fast becoming a
nightmare! I used the orange oil to take it out and they all slid out really
easily within minutes. But I have washed my hair what seems like a million
times and I cannot get the gummy residue out of my hair. And I dont just
mean at the roots, I mean that the length of my hair is just coated in gum. I
certainly don't know how I will ever get it off my wefts!
I've used ordinary shampoo, clarifying, dish soap and pre-bonding shampoo
and nothing is helping. Ugh, it's hard to even wash it off my hands.
Any ideas? Right now I'm soaking my hair wih olive oil to try and... I don't
know, do something, anything. What have you guys used to get residue out?
