I know what you mean...I have been quite vague and just told them that I contacted some experts in the field and trained with them. ( I neglected to tell them about the hundreds of experts on this board! He,he....)
I feel a little bit torn about it because, your right, on the one hand I don't want to teach my competition but on the other hand I do want to share.....
Some schools offer extension training, some do not. It's not on the State Board exams, so many schools don't bother teaching it. They teach you just enough to be dangerous in the salon.
I usually just refer stylists to the companies that I trained with, and they can call them. I really don't want to train any of my competitors for free.
Hi Tangles - I remember back in a post that you said you were developing curriculum for your local beauty schools to use with regard to hair extensions. I know that my state's schools do not teach hair extensions. I believe that most states do not teach this. I am just interested in knowing if your curriculum is method specific or a general overview of methods...
I have recently had several local stylists contact me wanting to know where I learned etc. They are all licensed stylists but know nothing about extensions!!! Fancy that! They are calling ME to learn from...he,he. Thanks Hairboutique!!!!
