I wish I used dish soap sooner. I put a tiny bit on and wahsed it out too quickly as I was so worried what it could do, that was a few days after the color. Now I am 2 weeks post disaster and my color has sealed. I just used the blue dawn dish soap. But the Ajax is ligher yellow color with lemon so it makes me wonder if that is better at lightening? I left it on in the shower for 10 minutes with a cap then wahsed it out. I am not sure if that helps or hurts me. Now I sit here with Joicos K-Pak which I guess I will sleep in but I do not notice much difference between keeping it on minutes versus hours, not a diffreence using Aphogee protein tx. Makes me wonder if that means my hair is that damaged that nothing makes a differnece. When you say you did it 8 times do you mean you put some on, lathered, rinsed and repeated that 8 times? I am too scared to do a bleach cap, shampoo plus bleach on my fried hair. I know waht you mean about curl. My hair is super long and naturally curly but since the bleach the curl is not quite a curl but something odd. Did you ever try regular Tide? It was recommended to me by a sweet poster but I just could not do it I guess because it seems like it would be even harsher than dish soap? But gosh if I know I can condition to get it back to before I would do it. You cant condtion with anything to get your hair back to before bleach, that is my opinion anyway.

I used dish soap prior to the first picture on the left in my signature. I had gotten WAY too dark lowlights that looked almost black and mixed with my ultra light platinum strands ended up looking grey. YUK! I have no picture of that. Dish soap did help a little, but not enough for me. I didn't leave it on. I just washed it about 8 times standing in the shower.

I ended up using bleach and leaving it on for about 8 minutes to get something I was more comfortable with. After that.....I've just worked in stages to get to where I am now. I have a 'Phase V' thread with what I just did, but I don't have any new pics.

I use Loreal's Natural Therapy Mega Moisture as a daily conditioner and deep condition for about 30 minutes wrapped in a warm towel once a week. My hair is super soft.....almost too soft. Sometimes, it doesn't want to take a curl.

Thanks again. I bought some Dawn today, maybe Palmolive would have been better? Oh well...then again, maybe the less harsh one is not as effective? it's hard because I bought some swimmer shampoo that is suppose to be not as harsh but maybe thats why it has not worked? So I got some Suave clarifiying too, has almost the same ingredients as Prell that is harsh but even cheaper. They have Ammonium Laurel Sulfate whereas the Swimmer one has laureth sulfate which is not as drying as the former I hear. It's a trade off I guess, too bad that my hair is as dry as it is that making it drier is terrible  but the color is so sad too. I heard about a Malibu treatment for my color problem but can;t figure out what it is. What I read about it assuming it is the same thing is that it it removes all this stuff from you hair withOUT removing color.

Your hair is a beautiful color. How long did you keep the Palmolive on? Did you mix with shampoo or by itself? Was it on dry hair? Did you use heat? Thanks!

I have only used Palmolive on my hair. I guess it's because it's always seemed less harsh than many other dish soaps.

I would think any brand would work, though.

Thank you! Do U know if it has to be Dawn dish soap which is the one I hear about or is Ajax okay? I have Ajax at home. Tide regular wituout bleach has also been mentioned but I have been scared to use it as my hair is already SO dry. Wondering if this kind of stuff permaneny dries out the hair no matter how much your condition or what you use to condition the way hair color makes hair lose a certain amount of moisture you just can;t get back? I will of course condition like crazy when doing this but wonder if I will ultimately lose mroe moisture for good? Thank U!! :)

You can speed up the fading by using harsher shampoos or dish detergent. Sometimes, it happens......Demi's are holding just fine in my hair, which was extrememly light platinum to begin with. But, that's what I want.

If you do use harsher shampoos or dish soap, please remember to deep condition often.....if not every time you wash your hair!

I am sooo bummed because I was told that becasue my hair has mostly demi color on it that it will actually last LONGER than a had it been a permenent color because it was put on my porous bleached hair. UGH! I had NO idea. I had heard that porous hair does not hold color well even if it initially grabbed it like it did mine and made it black. But yet that does not apply to a demi color, somehow in this case it works against you. Evidently it will hardly fade at all even in time, a loooong time. Is this true??!?!? Thanks.
