Keep the ash off those roots or they might turn GREEN Sounds like you have two tone hair. I've heard of adding some highlights to even things and blend a bit, this may work. Bleach them until they match the color of the roots.
The bright blonde roots most likely appeared from a condition know as hot roots. The roots, due to the heat from your scalp, will process faster and lighter. What color is ginger exactly? If it's an orange color--then blue or an ash would tone those ends down. Use a demi like Color Gems, less damaging, and don't apply it to your roots. Sounds like your roots are bright yellow? If you have that problem then a purple shampoo might help, if not then a violet based toner for the roots only. If you don't mind the brightness of your ends and want to just tone down the color a bit you can also try a neutral shade in medium blonde, use a demi.
Good luck and STRAND TEST prior to doing the entire head.
Remember the color wheel orange is neutralized by blue; while yellow is neutralized by violet or purple; and red is neutralized by green (or a mixture of blue and yellow)
hi, My natural hair colour was a dark blonde, I've been dying it dark for
about a year and decided to go blonde. I used a pre-lightener and then a
medium blonde dye. my hair now has bright blonde roots and the rest is
blonde/ginger with occasional dark streaks.it's actually not as disastrous as
it sounds but still a bit bright and i want to lessen the ginger. i have heard
that an ash blonde dye might help. should i try this? will it make the bright
blonde roots grey? should i apply it to the rest of my hair and not on the
roots?
please advise me.
