QuoteReplyTopic: overbleached my hair, how can I fix it? Posted: March 10 2006 at 8:50pm
Girl, going darker from such a light blonde is a major feat! I have had trials and tribulations that have lasted since October of last year, just to get to where I'm happy.
Go back and make them fix it, but make sure they don't try too dark. My hair grabbed like crazy when it was platinum. I'd try just a level at a time.
I know it's expensive, but unless you do some major research (and possibly read some of my threads) it will save you some major time and trouble!
Post a pic if you can.

I wanted to dye my hair blonde - long story, not important, but it is way too light now. I'm really naive when it comes to hair coloring and have heard so many horror stories that I'm totally paranoid about trying to fix it. My natural color is light brown/dark blonde, but have had it dyed (myself) for a long time a reddish/chesnet color. I decided to go in to a salon to have it bleached (out of paranoia). In terms of bleaching I think they did a good job -meaning that my hair is all one color and very blonde- but the color they gave me is still way too light. I thought it might grow on me, but it isn't. I spent too much money on it already, in my opinion, so I don't want to go back in to get it darker if I don't have to. I definitely need to get some moisture back into it b/c its totally dried out, but as far as color you can buy at the store to do yourself I've heard everything today from - 'it will turn your hair green' to 'if you do anything else to your hair right now it will fall out'. I need advice one what type of product to use to dye it darker (only a little darker blonde) and the timing of dying it again. Thanks for any help you can give - please remember that I'm really new to this so please don't use much 'salon jargon' in a reply!!
