THE BEST LOOK THAT I CAN THINK OF WOULD BE TO DO TWISTIES. THEY RESEMBLE CORNROWS AND THEY ARE REALLY EASY TO DO. YOU CANLEAVE A BIT DOWN IN FRONT IF YOU DON`T LIKE YOUR FOREHEAD. WITH CURLY HAIR IT LOOKS CUTE TO JUST FLUFF UP YOUR CURLS IN THE CROWN AREA. USE BOBBY PINS TO SECURE THE TWISTS BY RUNNING THEM BACK DOWN THE CENTER OF THE TWISTS. I`M A HAIRSTYLIST IN KANSAS CITY AND THAT LOOK IS REALLY POPULAR AROUND HERE ALL THE TIME. YOU CAN GET THE LITTLE JEWELS THAT VELCRO ON OR THE ONES ON SPRINGS TO PUT ON THE END OF THE TWISTS TO DRESS IT UP. THAT WAY YOU HAVE A GREAT LOOK WITHOUT BEING WORRIED ABOUT IT BEING TOO PLAIN OR IT FALLING OUT. I HOPE IT WORKS AND YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME. E-MAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
TAKE CARE WITH YOUR HAIR!

Stephie,

You should definately continue witht he retro look. You can go for a mod style they had lots of short looks with body. Those would look amazing at a dance. Or look back at Audrey Hepburn when she had short hair She had amazing dressy looks with hers. Hope I helped :-)

Stephie,
since you mentioned your dress is a little retro...depending how "retro" it is (like 20s, 60s etc) you have several options.
You could do a side part and retro waves - check www.hairdos.com, style 0846, very 20s and superchic. You could add more sparkle by using a glitter gel.
Maybe you also want to take a look at style 1157

Have you tried your luck in the gallery here at hairboutique.com? They have wonderful stuff on display.

Good luck and lots of fun at the event!
There is not only black and white, there is also grey

Why dont` you try to put it in cornrows?
Or why dont` you pull your hair back and make a few messy buns???
Or just leave your hair down and add a few gems.
