How soon can I re-dye my hair?

I just colored my medium brown hair with Clairol Natural Instincts lightest golden brown color. My hair did not lighten dramatically but it gave me reddish brown highlights which I was very pleased with, the problem was I did not have have enough color to work with by using one box of dye so I used most of the dye on the top part of my head closest to my scalp and pulled the remainder of the dye through the rest of my hair however it was not fully saturated with color. Can I buy another box of hair dye and re-color the bottom portion of my hair that was not properly colored, or will my hair get damaged?
