What you need to do is go to a salon and see a color specialist.  I dont mean the local "super cuts" either.  But with your hair being bleached, color won't deposit evenly, and with your history of color difficulties, I strongly urge you to see a professional.

honestly- i would say go to a professional for this, it will end of costing you more if u need it fixed. while they are doing you hair, you can then ask what will work for u to do at home. if its only the front or top part, you might only need a partial weave and that shouldnt cost that much, or purhaps u can just ask what they charge for a few foils to add some dimension and warmth.

you have to have pigment added back in, red needs to go first, then whatever base color u are wanting it to be.

Thanks so much ladies!  I really appreciate it!

I have a Beauty Depot near my home and they have a shampoo and conditioner called Porosity Control, that I believe you are supposed to use beforehand when dying hair.

Thanks again!

I had the same problem, and if you have extensions most likely the color wont absorb the same, over processed hair absorbs base colors of product like a sponge,, hence the purple and grey tones you are getting. The only way that you could avoid that is to use a filler on your hair first before the color. youcan get this at Sally's or another beauty supply place. The filler helps from keeping the base color from being absorbed first, your hair wiill come out better and the end will grab far less base color from the dye, however it's not 100 fool proof Hope this helps.

when you bleach your hair, its not like a regular dye, it doesnt add colour, it completely strips it away and removes all your colour pigment.  to darken it you need to add pigment to your hair or youu will get an empty, dodgy colour that fades fast and doesn't look right.

my hair and extensions was  bleached blond and i dyed it back to med/dark brown . I used 2 bottles on my 14" extensions.  I went to sallys beauty supply and I used the medium brown from the clairol complements hydra drench demi line. It is semipermanent I believe. yellow and gray box It looks great very shiny!  so far not turned ashy at all.

here is info on it i found on the web.

Ok, kind of an off topic one:

This is actually a question regarding my natural hair but I figured you guys are experts and would be the only people who can help me!

My hair is naturally dark brown but is bleached out for the past couple years to the blondest blonde, lol, just like #613.

Anyhow, every now and again I get the urge to darken my hair up a bit because it seems to yellowish for me.  I don't want to go back to brown, just a darker blonde with a touch of light brown.

THis is absolutely impossible for me to do, lol.  Anytime I try to darken my hair it turns grey or purple.  I am assuming this is due to the fact I bleached my hair so much.

Anyhow, if I use box dye from Walmart or Kmart or somewher like that it turns lavender and if I get dye from a beauty store it turns grey.

What can I put on my hair to avoid this?  Is there a certain brand dye I should use?  Should I use professional from beauty stores only and just steer clear of Kmart stuf?

PLEASE HLPE ME!
