i have pinchbraids in right now carrie : ) they feel great! this is definately the only method i am going to use. i also have some pictures on the forum so you can do a search on me. I had a problem at first with them showing but thats because my hair was damaged and my hair dresser had to make them bigger than usual. next time around she made them super small so no peeking through : ) my hair is pretty thin too but its always good to check with your stylist to make sure. if your hair is short she will probably have to go high on your scalp so it never hurts to ask. also i have been wearing my pbs for almost a year now and have never lost a one.

Thanks! I will check those pix out. My biggest concern is that I want a very natural look where you cannot see the braids near the scalp. Since my hair is pretty short I don't know if I should wait and grow it an inch or two longer before getting them. Were your pinchbraids hidden well, or did you want the braids to be noticeable? Maybe I'll go to the Hairpolice salon and get a consult, since I live in the Minneapolis area. Prices shown on their website are comparable to what I was quoted at my consult today.

hi there - i've had pinchbraids and love them. i think i lost maybe 1 braid over 4 installs. do a search under my name and you'll see my pics. if you do a board search here you'll see plenty of opinions and pics.
they aren't for everyone, some find them too bulky and a few women here have had major slippage. as with anything some of it is trial and error for what is going to work with your hair texture....but i, like you, find the no glue/residue aspect great for me.
if you go to hairpolice - www.hairpolice.com there are some pics there also and an area where you can do a stylist search by zip code. Hairpolice were innovators of the technique, although other folks do them also.

I just had a consultation for extensions today, and the salon I went to uses the pinch braid method. I like how it seems to be the least damaging way to do extensions, and the photos of customers the stylist showed me look good. Who here knows more about pinch braids, or has had them done? Before deciding for sure, I'd like some opinions on pinch braids. I don't know if it matters, but the hair they use is Bohyeme (sp)? Also, my hair is pretty short- the stylist said I wouldn't want it any shorter for this. Thanks for any feedback!!
