Yeah it's a good brand, produces very rich colours. It's pretty
smelly though, but you do get used to it, and it was worth it everytime
for my blue/black hair :)

I used the Colorifx last night and my medium/dark brown hair is now blonde/orange/light brown as I expected...
I might Colorfix again today just at the bottom so I don't get very bright roots but not-so-bright-tips. I'll keep you updated.
Aubergine: i think that red shade of 100% color would look awesome on u! it's a very very pretty shade.. i'm also glad to hear that u've used garnier's 100% color and like it b/c i have naturally black hair and would like to try their new UB3 shade (it's golden brown especially designed to work on dark hair).. so glad to know that i'm making a good initial choice

I know you posted awhile ago, but I just wanted to comment and say that I really like the Garnier 100% Color. When I had really dark brown hair, I did the undercolor a bright red, ..I was wanting to go orange, but sadly I couldn't find an orange haircolor. So I dyed it this color; Garnier 100% Color #764
Also, I think if you use a shamoo & conditoner they have out for red hair it'll help it not fade. [see here]
It's a great suggestion, but my hair has been permanent for so long I
doubt temporary colour would work, especially when I want that intense
red. I usually dye my hair on impulse anyway - it has been red
before, but it was more of a black red and was not vibrant enough.

I think that the dark red would look nice on you, especially with blue eyes. If you're reluctant to do something permanent because you're unsure, then I would try something temporary. I also have blue eyes w/a cool skin tone and I dyed my hair red for halloween over my existing brown with L'Oreal Color Pulse (an OTC haircolor). Just somethign you might consider before making a permanent change. Good luck!

amazing, however I can't get hold of Elumen...which is a shame.
Not only that, I would be extremely reluctant to bleach my hair almost

I've been looking at the Garnier 100% Color range - I used to dye my
hair in the intense Blue/Black of the range, and it was really
good...maybe theyre just as good with reds. I'm thinking about
this one:
Also, I have cool colourings (skin and eyes) but have naturally golden
light blonde hair, so I was thinking that intense Dark Red will still
suit me. I'm only 17 so I think I'll be able to get away with red
hair and grey/blue eyes, in fact it'll probably be a nice
contrast. What do you guys think?

I have just been introduced to Goldwell Eluinm (think thats how you spell it) in our salon. It has a fantastic range of fashion colours from reds to baby pink, blue and violet colours. I was fascinated by this product. You need to pre lighten the hair to almost white first , then apply the Eluinm process for 20 Min's under heat, rinse and this product has a lock in product you apply to hair before shampooing , which locks in the colour for weeks. It works with the negative and positive charges in your hair which locks in the colour, its fantastic. Great for hi- lighting or slices of colour. Unfortunately not available in hight streets. you can use along with tints, looks great with dark colours as well with lighter tones.

I honestly wish I knew all that my twin sister Barb knows about hair coloring. Barb is a licesed cosmotologist. My Twin Sister knows all the fancy scientific, and ofcourse laymans terms for hair coloring etc.

I'm really getting bored of medium brown now! I'm naturally light
blonde and I know that when I Colorfix my hair I get a very light
orangey brown colour. I want to go medium/dark red...not vibrant
because my mum's is vibrant red and I don't want to copy her :D.
I was wondering if Colorfixing my hair will be sufficient for getting
this result (I'm not too keen on bleaching it again, although my hair
is in good condition again now), and what red dyes have proven the
longest lasting/have produced the nicest results for you?
This is my colour now, with 1/2 inch of blonde roots:
