Yeah, they usually have it with all the coloring stuff, you can ask, and I'm
sure they will help you, there's sometimes different ones for different
colors, I only know the basics behind it, so maybe someone at the BSS or
someone on here could give you more info, I just basically know to use it,
and that's about it!

Yeah I saw the thread you made for the clip ins -- looked great! I want to make some that will match my gogo (nightclub dancer) outfits. My dark red/auburn hair is starting to bore me!
So if I just go to a BSS and ask for a filler they'll be able to give me what I need? Or is there somethig specific I should be looking for?
moffpoff - I assume you mean Gouache paint (I Googled it and that's what came up) --- my concern is that it seems to be a watercolor and might wash away if the synth doesn't absorb at all...I guess I could always try going to the art supply store and asking what they think (it seems relatively cheap per tube).
lol I'll probably end up with bottles and tubes and boxes of crazy colors that I can't use on anything!!

I've used Manic Panic (hot pink) before, I'm trying to think if it was synth
or not. I know it wasn't particuarly Wawa. Anyways, it worked like a
charm! What I suggest is a strand test (I've wasted bunches of hair
because I've failed to do this luckily it was only cheap hair!) and a filler
(makes the color turn out better, and seems to keep my extensions a
better texture, not so dried and fried feeling)
Manic Panic seemed like it just deposited color, so my guess is the Wawa
may not take the color. But, if it doesn't take the color, you probably wont
be left with alien hair like some of us have been! (cough cough gsmilie)

Hello Everyone! I've been lurking on this board for a few days -- I'm so happy to have found someplace where everyone is so helpful and kind!
I recently bought some #613 Straight 20" Wa Wa on Ebay with the intention of making multicolored clip in streaks (hot pink, turquoise, etc). Only after I purchased them I was told that the phrase "this hair can also be dyed" was being phased out of the descriptions (lol oops!) since many people had problems coloring it.
I figured before I start going crazy experimenting I would ask to see what has worked/failed for anyone on the boards. I know I've read a few posts about how people were going to try different methods and products to dye the wawa, but nothing definite.
Also, because of the colors I'd like them to be, ideally I'd like to be able to use Manic Panic or Special Effects (Semi-Permanent dyes), but if anyone has had any luck with RIT, that might work as well. If all else fails, I'll just have a bunch of bright blonde streaks to use
------------
I'll probably be posting a bunch of questions in the next few days since I'm new to the whole fake hair and extensions scene :) Especially since this is my first attempt at altering anything! I've done my best to comb through past threads to make sure I'm not repeating subjects, but forgive me if I do!! Thanks!!!
