I deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner for about two weeks when I take down my braids. If I ever go back to braids, I would use Aphogee treatment afterwards and some ORS Replenishing Pak to boost the moisture levels.

When taking down braids and stretching: I took mine down in 4 sections, one at a time. I applied Infusium 23 to a section after it had first been taken down and combed it in even smaller sections. Then I braided that section into one braid. I repeated that until I had 4 braids and all the fake braids out.
Then I washed it. (I wash in 4 braids anyways)
After washing it was the same procedure as if I hadn't had braids in. Everything was normal after that. (But I was still extra gentle sicne I was fresh out of braids.) Flat ironing, drying, combing, etc. My hair is then the same all around.
Afterwards -
When no braids and stretching: I just moisturize my roots a lot, be gentle with them, and that made my hair A-okay.
(I am type 3b/3c and I stretch 4-5 months at a time)

ive always wondered how those of u who stretch yur relaxers manage yur hair after taking it down from braids. I know after i take out my hair from braids the only way to even get thru it is to relax it. it there another way of making it manageable without relaxing?and how do u wash it when it is just taken down?
