Hi Stacy,
If you can't buy the Shades from the distributor, I see people selling it on Ebay all the time, so check it out there. It really works well, and you only have to treat the hair once and it will stay platinum.
I have some shimmer lights on hand, but on my last batch of hair the
gold would not budge. I have some new hair coming in and I'll try that
again-- and maybe I'll have some luck. The Shades EQ also sounds very
promising. Where I live it can be difficult to get professional hair
colour-- but I worked in a salon as a makeup artist for quite a long
time, so most of the distributers know me. Maybe I'll have to call in
some favours. Or maybe just order it online.

Hi Stacey. Ive had some success with using Clairol shimmer lights. I turned a very gold weft of #613 into a beautiful platinum blonde just by using the purple shampoo. And she only had to use the shampoo once or twice a week to keep it platinum looking. You could try that route first.
Ive also seen some brands of #613 that the shimmer lights would not budge the gold....so then I had to tone
I find I have to do a lot of toning to get that nice platinum blond color. I use Shades EQ Platinum Ice with the developer. You have to watch it like a hawk though, because of the hair's porosity, it can go gray very fast. I apply it and stand right over it to see how the color is developing, or in this case, neutralizing. When I think it's where I need it to be, I test it by wiping a bit off with a paper towel to see what's developed underneath.
I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions for toning the gold out
of human hair 613 pretips (products or methods). It's always a little
bit too gold to be a perfect match.
