I think the wefts look better than fusion because wefts give more thickness. Fusion seems to feel more natural but once you get used to the wefts it's fine. The wefts also have more hair in a equally spread out area. Fusion is kind of clumpy.

I have never glued wefts in, only clip-in. I would love to do pro-tac but then I can't do deep conditioning treatments like I do now. I do treatments at least twice a week. The clips can be really effing annoying. I've been testing different ones to see if I can find a more comfortable clip but haven't found it yet.

i ended up getting a weave metagirl, I tried the protac and I need a friend to help. I looked like a mullet head so i took it out. I went to the salon yesterday and got the weave. Lets hope this will give me some growth of my real hair. The weird thing is this looks more natural to me than my fusion. I have more coverage and I am so glad I dont have to get glue out of my head!!! My best friend commented last night that this beauty supply hair and weave looks 100 times better than the fusion. go figure I spend thousands on fusion and only  300 labor and 40.00 for hair on the weave

I put the Protac back in yesterday since it's seems to do less damage than the clip ins, at this point.  My hair is so thin that the clips from the clip ins hurt me all day whereas the Protac is comfortable.

Here is my experience with Pro Tac:

No brekage/root pull. I do jiu-jitsu 3-5 times a week, obviously I sweat A LOT, and am rolling my head or haveing someone pushing it into/across a mat! I've literally been trapped by my own ponytail...still no damage!!!

Though, like metalgirl posted, it depends on your hair. Try a test stip and see how it works for you!

you can buy it at www.hairextensions101.com Sherrie sells it. It holds really well from what I have read. I removed it with AMMS Cirus remover. I bought some and tried to install last night. I think I need help doing it! For right now I am going to get a weave.

Wow that would really be terrible to not be able to wear any type of extensions.  I love them so much!

I had my hair highlighted heavily with bleach and toned platinum every 3-4 weeks  since october before my first batch of fusion extensions. I received them in Feb and wore those until last week. I dyed my hair dark brown which is my natural color while wearing them to make my maintence easier and cheaper.

My natural hair is very thick and strong so I dont understand why some of  the hair in each of the bonds had root bulbs unless it was from the bleach I had been putting on my head prior to the extensions making my hair weak or is it I just have roots that come out easily?

I can get a weave from a local salon . The weavist  works at the Ulta beauty store in the salon. She has done several employees hair and they have healthy hair when its taken out. She makes a braid and sews the weft on the braid and does several rows like this. Is this what you had?

If your hair is not strong enough, you can get root pull from any type of extensions.

Sadly my hair is not strong enough.  I wore Protacs for two weeks and when I took them out, a substancial amount of my hair came out too.  In the last few years that's what happens to me with every semi-permanent install, regardless of method.  It's just  my crappy hair.

I ordered a custom lace front and also a custom integration piece that I'm going to have one of them weaved on when it arrives.  The only time my hair has been alright with extensions is when I wore the full weave and all my hair was braided up.

I hope they thicken it up some. I feel like my hair is a little thicker today becuase I think the nioxin stripped off all of the shine serum that makes my hair feel flat. I can actually see hairs broken off at the top of my head so maybe the vitamins will help them grow faster.

I always use Nioxin between installs too.  Funny thing though, I recently had my extensions out for 2 weeks straight after a protac install and the first week I was disturbed by how thin my hair felt but after the second week I didn't notice any difference from how thin my hair was before wearing extensions. I actually felt no pain or pulling when I was wearing protac, my hair was in better condition after 2 months of protac wear!  I am back to micro rings though and am hoping to not have much pulling and will not end up with less hair!

Thanks Gsmilie! I went and bought a bunch of hair vitamins last night and the Nioxin also to try and thicken up my hair again. May not work but I figure I should at least try cant hurt.

Has anyone else had any damage, thinness or root  pulling from Protac?

I personally have not had any damage with using pro-tacs.  YOu do have to becareful that stray hairs don't get caught on the tapes, but it is pretty forgiving.  I have had normal amount of shedding each time a do a removal, sometimes I swear that it seems thinner, but then again I am used to fuller hair back there.  I have check and have had my friend check for bare spots or anything out of the ordinary, and nothing has been found.  So far this has been the best method for me, as I get great coverage, but I also don't get any matting or tangling with either.

I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever had any damage or root pull with Protac? How many ounces of hair do most of you use?

I had to remove the ezfusion extensions I just got because they were not installed correctly by the extensionist and my hair is now a lot thinner and somewhat damaged and I do not want to damage it further.
