Why was yours damaged? My friend just got hers own both times she wore them 6 months and had no problems and her hair was longer than before. I hope mine are not damaged when she takes them out. What was wrong with your hair when they took them out??
I kept my GL in for 5 months and I ended up having very damaged hair that was shorter then when I started. I then had basically no choice but to keep getting extensions. After diy and shrinks my hair is getting back to normal and I may even go this summer without extensions. I don't have much good to say about GL except the hair that they use but you definitely pay for it.

I had them since January 18th. May will be 5 months. The girl I go to is pregnant and never has an opening. The salon is always jammed and I don't want to wait and then she is not there or something?? I would say see how yours goes and see how long you want to go. I am starting to loose some while brushing now, so I think I am just getting them out this Wednesday while she has an opening. I love them and will miss them but I don't want to risk her not being available.
I have GL, Had them since Jan 18th, mine are doing great. Yes, you an swim in them dry right away, they gave me anti tap to put in before and after swimming. I am sad that mine are coming out Wed of this week,
Thanks for your response. If you don't mind me asking, why are you taking them out so soon? Is it because they "need" to be removed? I'm really confused because the girl who did mine says I can have them for 4-5 months while a lot of other people say 3 months is the max. My cousin has been getting them for 5 years and she always leaves them in for 6 months but her hair is pretty fragile from it. I have healthy hair and I'd like to keep it that way.
Does anyone else know about this? Thank you.

I'm new to this board and had some questions about my recent Great Lengths install. The hair was put in on March 9th and it's been holding up extremely well. I haven't lost one bond yet and the shedding is minimal. Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. Here's how they look like today (almost 8 weeks later)...
I went in to my stylist a few days ago and she says that I should be able to keep them in until July but after reading some of the information here on this board, I'm a little worried. Is it true that they must be removed after 12 weeks? Also, I'm going on vacation soon and I'm wondering how they will hold up after swimming in the ocean. I went swimming with them once at home but I was able to dry the bonds immediately afterward. Will I need to do this after swimming in the ocean? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
