You can do fusion with pre tip but must add more adhesive. I use the pre tips for shrinks and silicone lined shells. I would do fusion with bulk hair.I wold use a wand instead of the gun it fans out the hair better and heats from both sides. You can get them at www.yourhairshop.com among other places (got mine here) I like the one with the small tip. I do have the straight one but I just use it to pre tip hair.

edit to add :that nail tiped hair has enough keritn and you don't have to add more to that. You can see both tips on the site I gave you.

so how do you apply the pretipped hair into your own hair using glue?  If it's in a stiff stick form, do you just wrap your own hair around it?  my stylist usually fans out the bulk hair, applies the glue, then wraps the extension hair around my strand of hair and twists it back and forth between her fingers.  You wouldn't be able to do that if it is stiff with nail glue.  I am confused.....

I have used all the following Orans ( the worst ), Monkey Barzz & Mega Hair adhesives. I have heard x-10 is a very good adhesive, but with all the glues you will have shedding if you do not pre-tip the hair. Pretipping by using nail glue or gorilla glue on the tips. After I started pretipping the extension hair with the nail glue I had almost no shedding !

I used hair compounds and the bond fell apart!! It was really bad. Monkey barzz holds up really well. Don't just use the gun , use one of the little irons. I like the one on Kristen's site the smaller tipped one. I wish they sold chips. I only use fusion for tipping (I use shrinks and silicone shells) I heat the sticks it the pot and use a waxing stick to put it on the iron. but when I did do more fusion monkey barzz held up better than anything else I tried.

I have a question, what if the best bonding adhesive for fine hair that won't slip or shed?  I have used orans (?) and within 3 days 50% of the hair was gone!  I currently have mega hi-tech adhesive, which seems to last pretty well but if I get any hair product near it, it starts to shed!  I hate seeing all of that pretty hair go down the drain!!!!!

I have VERY fine hair, and I use russian hair, which is also fine, so my bonds like to slip a lot.  I have individual strands installed from bulk hair using a hot pot w/ glue in it.  This seems to be the best method for me, the bonds usually don't show but if they were to, they are the same color as my hair and hard to pick out.

any help would be appreciated!  Also, has anyone ever tried the glue that hair compounds sells?
