have u ever tried braiding it wet and sleeping in it over night? i hav striaght hair and it works great for me (french braids seem to  work best)

I have a brown and blondeish color hair(the blonde is from a previous Sun In accident) It is somewhat thick, but its not too out of control. Well I have normaly straight hair. Is there some possible way for me to make waves to my hair? like kind of a lot. And it there a way without using curling iron?
