as for price, yes CV is initially more expensive. But I could get around 4 installs out of one can (it was in a can back in the day...when I last used CV). LG,  I use about 3 or 4 of the small  bottles per install. ( I always throw away the last 1/4 of the bottle because its gets too goopy to work with)

SO in the end CV really isnt so expensive. Its just that $50 up front that is a little shocking!

The only reason I would have preferred CV over LG in the past was that it was less messy to work with than LG...but since Elvira's discovery of using a syringe, I would def. go with LG (at least for blondes)

I have used both, and I like LG better.  Here's why:

CV goes on easily but smells chemically terrible and stings the scalp a bit.  LG is thick and is easiest applied with a syringe.  Both lasted around the same amount of time for me, though one time LG lasted maybe a little longer.   Removal was an absolute breeze for both brands using acetone.  CV costs around $50 while LG costs about $5.  I'd say they are both similar enough to eachother, but one costs a whole lot more.

Like metalgirl, i always use a blowdrier (or little hand held fan) to dry my chrissyv bonds, and i don't have too much of a lingering smell. I prefer it to LG because of the yellowish white flakes i get from LG. I never had any flaking w/ ChrissyV. I'm working on figuring out what i can add to LG to make change color to dark/black in color.. Any suggestions.. Food coloring? fabric dye or hair color are a few mentioned.

And who doesn't the LG manufacturer offer it in dark or black???

I just did a few installs with the Chrissy V glue.  I have used this stuff on and off for a few years now and never had a problem with it turning white.  It has great staying power and is easy to remove with acetone.

The smell is horrible until it dries and sometimes it can cause the client discomfort when applied.  I think the latex irritates some people's scalps, so when I apply it I find that I must immediately apply a blow dryer for a few seconds to calm the chemical sting that some people experience.

However, it is expensive, but I always do try to keep some on hand because I have faith that it really does the job it's supposed to.

hmmm...I wonder if CV glue has changed the formula or something because I never had a problem with the brown or black glue turning white....it always held its color. It has been at least 3 years since I used CV glue

I've used them both and LG is 100 times better, imo. Chrissy V has the worst chemical smell which gave me a raging headache when I did my first install with it. Then it only lasted a few weeks, and the dark kind turned all white and crusty in about three days. Especially for you blondes, LG is perfect. I use it on my dark hair, but only put it on the underside of the wefts. This method is lasting a LONG time--I'm at over 8 weeks now and going strong! I posted on Sherrie's site about how I do this:

Damn, 7 weeks is a long time.  My hair is really short, and it seems like if I sandwhich anything towards the top that is looks too flat cuz the top layer pulls the hair down.  My natural hair is also fried lol, so I need conditioner closer to the bonds than I did before.  I imagine this is the stuff that shortens any install.

I might try to Chrissy V, when I first started the whole hair extension venture (before I found this board I used a latex glue called Natty.  I really loved the install, it stayed in a few months and honestly would have probably stayed in forever.......that was the whole problem.  When the time came to take it out OUCH.  I may try the glue, where do you order it from?

By the way Sherrie, your hair is beautiful (and so are you).

ChrissyV is an awesome glue. I belive it is latex based. But it is a far superiour product to your common BSS latex glue. And it is a super cinch to remove. They have  3 or 4 colors. But I would avoid the clear unless you have snow white/platinum hair otherwise it turns white looking after a couple weeks and looks like major dandruff on your scalp...LOL
It is fairly equal in holding time as LG...LG works only slightly better for me.
I can get 7 weeks out of LG...are you sandwiching the wefts? That alone added weeks to my installs

It took me so long to try LG and I really love it.  I've heard a few people mention Chrissy V glue?? (not sure if that is the exact name) and I'd like to give it a try.  I'm a blonde and would love to know what color is dries, etc.

Is it better than the liquid gold?  What about takedown?acetone?  Which one stays in longer (I'm getting about 3 weeks out of the liquid gold)?

I'd love to hear from the gals who have used both!  I think I'm sticking with just glue/handtied wefts for the summer and maybe a few microrings holding the wefts in when I go to the beach.

Thanks.
