fourth step, they have a finishing spray that contains a little bit of
serum to keep your hair down

If my sig picture is up, you can see I suffer from the same problem. The day I had this taken, I had freshly washed it and had no products on it. It looked good too. Then when I went outside - poof - the frizz hit.
Rather than damage your naturally wavey hair with straightening, you might go in the other direction and improve its overall condition. One solution might be giving yourself a mayo treatment. I recently tried this myself and have noticed less frizz. Another would be to lesson your frequency of shampooing - or at least dilluting the shampoo. I shampoo/condition every other day, but with the shampoo, I mainly focus on the scalp.
Those shine treastments you can get at salons also help a little with the frizz, but from reading Susan W's post, the end result sounds to be the same as using jojoba/coconut oil.

Try jojoba/coconut oil. You use a drop or two drops only, rub it on
your hands, then spread it through the length of your hair (from the
ears down). You can then try combing it through to distribute it
better, but you will have to decide if the combing when dry is bad
(because it may frizz it...if it does, you could try applying your oil
when your hair is wet, combing it then, and not combing or brushing
again after its dry. You will have to see what works best for
your hair). It should not look greasy or get oil on your
clothes. If it does either, that means you used too much, start
with one drop and only increase if necessary (you may need more if your
hair is long). Not only should it stop frizz, it should also make
your waves well defined and shiny.
As for shampoos and conditioners, I can only tell you that I've heard
wavy/curly people say they don't like heavy silicone shampoos or
conditioners because they tend to make frizz, and weigh down the hair
too much. Try something light, without any words in the
ingredients that end in "cone" (those are the silicones). Often
the lightest and coneless shampoos are the ones found at health/ whole
food stores (where you can also find the jojoba oil). Good luck!

Okay, so I've been having moderate success in styling my hair with Frizz Ease (still kind of frizzy but not too bad) but today it had to go and rain and get super humid and now my hair has gone from fairly smooth to complete frizz ball. It literally freaks me out when my hair gets like this even though I've tried a lot of products to fight the frizz. What is the best way to prevent frizzy hair?
I want to know what shampoos and conditioners are best, what styling products to use and how to use them, and what styling tools if any to use. I have naturally wavy hair with little corkscrew ringlets around my face. Ideally, my hair would go from gorgeous waves (ala Kate Hudson's hair in "Raising Helen") to sleek yet still voluminous without all the frizz.
So shy of getting that Japanese straightening (which I haven't tried) to relaxing my hair (which I did try like 5 years ago - but I felt it damaged my hair too much), what can I do to have hardly any frizz (and hopefully none at all)? Thanks!!
