Transitioning is definitely a process...it can be hard to go through if you have ppl constantly telling you your hair will fall out without a relaxer. Truth is....u may experience some breakage bc of the demarcation line, but if you are serious....do it. Aphogee has a good breakage treatment....it worked great for me, but don't over do it...too much protein can beak the hair too.

.. I'm transitioning, and let me be the first to say it wasn't easy to make it routine at all.  And at times it's rather frustrating, but I have faith that it'll get better in the long run, and I'll be swinging my curly locks from side to side in no time!

I agree that relaxing can KILL your hair. Natural hair is much healthier and cheaper. Also braids are cool and protect your hair.

I believe my hair type is a 4b. Thats what I've been told and also when I see that hair type it matches the closest to mine. I've been wearing this cute afro puff phony pony for the whole summer but, I'm getting a little bored with it. I've been doing alot of conditioner washes, taking vitamins and drinking alot of water and my hair is growing well. I would love to try out braid outs and twist outs but my front hairs are wayy 2 short. Any ideas on what I could do?

To transition depends on what you want. Can you deal with the braids and the 2 textures then a long transition is for you. If you don't want to be tempted by your next touch up then you should try chopping off the relaxed ends all together. Vitamins are a start but water and a proper diet helps a great deal too.

Going natural is quite a liberating experience! Think about it as a vacation ..for your hair and yourself. It saves you a whole lotta stress, you don't have to worry about chemical burns or be reminded of that sulfur smell (lol) Just  remeber change is good..especially if it's for the better. Until you find your 'GROOVE' get inspired by some sho'nuff stylin' short cuts or slick it. Be like nature..cause change is beautiful!

beauty is in the eye of the beholder;make sure that your vision of it doesn't blind anyone elses!

Going natural was one of the best things that I could have done for my hair, which also does not repond well to relaxers of any type.

Transitioning from relaxed to natural. Right now, I'm not happy with my hair at all!. It is below shoulder length. My ends are hideous. Some pieces are long but in the back its so short. I take vitamins now and I do have new growth, but something tells me I'm not going to achieve long hair if I keep up the relaxers. My hair starts out kind of thick, then when you get to my ends, they are thin and weak and theres not much I can do about it. I could trim but they'll only split in due time. So, I figured I'll keep up with vitamins cuz they are helping me dearly and maybe get some braids for the summer. I'm so sick of investing in hair products and wasting money (16 w/ no job). So yea, I think I have better things to spend money on. I want to have a few products available that work for me. I think I would be much happier with natural hair. I have been on the motowngirl website and the twistouts/braidouts look real nice. I have tried to do those w/ my hair and it usually ends up in disaster b/c of uneven length and its just too straight. All I can say is "i'm ready" and any suggestions you ladies have plz hook me up! Sorry for the essay....Smile
