Kudos to Freewebs for taking care of this so quickly. Copyright infringement is theft.
This gal is on that connect hair board which speaks volumes. The forum owner over there lifts text and passes it off as their own, once copying word for word my shrinkies description and using it as their own to profit. They sold the unlined plastic tube that slipped out of people's hair. They contacted MB after this forum's shrinkie brouhaha and now sell the uncertified shrinks. Hah hah.
I didnt mind that it was posted on the nails and stuff forum, for others to use, thats absolutely fine. But the fact that its being used by connect 2 hair to promote and sell the products using my demo is a little bit much.
I was never asked permission, and truthfully that demo is property of hairextensions101.com so if she is going to use it I would like the credit to be given to www.hairextensions101.com, not to my misspelled name of sherry215
Hey Mokipono, I have tried contacting hairseller a few times but they have never got back to me, they obviously dont want my money, do you supply virgin russian hair wholesale? I would be interested in visiting your site, ta

I would be very concerned that her consultation takes no longer than 10 minutes! she cant have much to say, Im with clients for at least an hour (obviously thats with cup of tea too!) also she says she has been doing extensions for "some time" how long is that exactly? I dont think this girl will be in business for long!
I am curious to know how this ends up working out for you. I do hope that the thief will be forced to remove or credit your work.
We have had some people steal our photos - as well as our entire layout and description in one case- from our eBay store. It is extrememly frustrating. I spend a lot of time taking and editing photos of our merchandise to make them unique and appealing - so when someone copies our work, that defeats much of the purpose. We also spent copious amounts of time learning how to design and our own templates and store page- only to have some woman steal many of our elements and text from that page. She was a direct competitor and it was very low of her to sponge off of our work. Apparently her customer service sucks (no suprise) so she is no longer a competitor. I guess she could not "steal" customer service from someone else so she failed.
In a competitive market you need the uniqueness to help you stand out and express your company and products. Not to mention- it is just plain wrong to outright steal someone else's work.
There is a big difference between humbly learing from and building upon the achievments of others and stealing. We all learn from and use one another's ideas to some degree- and then make them our own by adding to them. Nothing wrong wiht that. As an artist, much of my inspiration comes from other artists- but I do not rip them off.
I am personally grateful that this fraud has been brought to our attention- and that this matter is being discussed. It IS a big deal- and I do not think that, so far, anyone has handled the situation in an immature fashion. Hell- even if they did- we are talking about a thief. How much respect can you give to a thief? That person KNOWS that they did something wrong.
Kudos to you for handing it in a professional fashion, and for bringing it to our attention.
this would be one of very few places that i would find out that someone else out there is using stolen information on their sites, i wouldnt want to end up buying hair/supplies from one of those sites because i feel it reflects the overall product/customer service that i would end up with (in other words, sh!tty)
if all of ya'll start 'acting like adults' and NOT speaking up for each other and offering words of support........i'd tell ya to piss off, and i'd have to go back to bothering my husband about how my hair looks (he says, please, dont do that to him)

This is about intellectual property that one has created as one's own. It is f****** lazy (and evil) to steal someone else's ideas and claim them as your own. I know I spent a lot of time (and money) creating my professional website, clarifying my approach to my work. I'd be really pissed off if someone else copied my text word for word. HB.com is the appropriate place to expose this kind of fraud.
What's your problem, Sassy? I personally am glad to be alerted to any dishonest extensions "professionals" who may be advertising on the Internet.
I dont normally get caught up in all this as I find it unecessary!! Why has this thread gone on for so long its becoming a little boring now about whose done this and whose done that!! As adults surely there is enough room for everyone in this big wide world. I think it would be much more appropriate to actually contact the person who is either copying text or copying pictures and to get in contact with the person or the company who is hosting there website, instead of everybody jumping on the band wagon and name calling and bringing other people into this when its actually two people who are involved. Remember there are two sides to every story and both should be heard before anyone has a right to make a judgement if at all they should be making one.

If the thread is borring, your welcome to not participate in it.
And I don't blame anyone for being upset that their stuff is stolen, be it pictures of their work, or text they took the time to write. How would you feel if someone stole your work and passed it off as their own?
I've had photos of myself stolen before, and damn straight I have the right to pass "judgement", there IS no "other side", they stole from me, I got pissed. Such is life. But I suppose since it obvously doesn't bother you, I may take your pictures/text/work and say I did it? After all, fair is fair.
And by the way, I dont think your signature is quite big enough.
