Oh Nursie... that's just darling! I love that stick look. It is so elegant! I can't wait until my own layers are long enough to neatly go up like that. I've got too many short ones around my face now, so any time I put my hair up there are just too many stragglers to look even a tiny bit sleek. Now I can't wait to get some sticks just like yours! Measuring the layers... thinking... probably about six more months... woo hoo!
just pull my hair back like im about to put it in a ponytail, and force myself not to put on a scrunchie instead..........twist my hair and loop it around like a messy bun, then push each stick in crisscrossed
i've seen women in the past with really long hair have ornate combs and hair sticks in, but my own hair was always so thin and fine even when it got to its longest that anything of that sort would never hold my hair up....but with extensions there's enough hair there to hold it......
this is my new 'artsy' lazy hair

great idea nursie....just exactly how do you use them? Call me stupid, but Im not sure how to use them to securely hold my hair....are they very secure?
i know we all usually post our pics of when we have our hair just nicely fixed at its best......but i'll admit that most days i dont do much to my hair. on top of that, suddenly having long hair with extensions i've realized that i really dont know what to do with it as ive never had really long hair....so upon watching a recent episode of What Not to Wear, they said hair scrunchies are banned....sigh, i am a perpetrator of the hair scrunchie......
anyway, in an effort to be more presentable....i remembered reading on the long hair care forum about hair sticks, now many of them had gotten nice wooden hand carved by artisans from off the net where they are sometimes $30-$50 apiece, but although i like nice things i will admit to being a walmart shopper, a sub-walmart shopper...like Dollar Tree, and i've made my way through quite a few garage sales..........soooooooooo, i thought i'd make my own.........the waitress at the chinese restaurant where we eat almost every week gave me a couple of handfulls of chop sticks.....i went to Michael's craft store and had all this stuff in my basket with intentions of staining the chopsticks and adding decorative beads......then i looked down at all the stuff and said to myself: i'm never going to take the time to do this crap...and i put it all back, a half hour of my life wasted
but.....i went by Claire's boutique.....you know it, the junk jewelry shop at the mall ......and there they were.....buy one get one 1/2 price....around 20 different styles.....i got four sets for $16.....its quick and easy but yet NOT a scrunchie....so on my link i've got a pic of what i got and of them stuck in my hair after i've been in and around the pool today with otherwise messy hair, just in case someone is looking for something to do with their lazy hair like me :
