 I generally wash once a week with diluted shampoo.  I also will condition before and after shampooing.  Since I started doing that my hair has been growing well and healthy.

i think washing every week is necessary to cleanse the scalp/hair.  as far as growth, i'm sure the massage is great stimulation. 
 
i wash once a week, although when i'm stretching i get lazy and may go two weeks

My hair appears to have grown more since I started washing  (with shampoo) and deep conditioning 2x each week about 3 years ago. I read about it in Cathy Howse's book and I feel the added moisture is the key.  My hair is always moisturized this way.Smile

No heat since 07/03

When I was relaxed and now that I am natural I just washed my hair after every work out.  It didn't matter what style my hair was because I always styled it back.  My relaxed hair was pretty long until i transferred colleges and the water was horrible...it broke off quicker than it grew.  So I think it depends on the water type and location sometimes.

    When I was relaxed I washed once a week.

now that I'm natural I CO wash everyday.

When I' not wearing braids I have to co-was 6 days a week and shampoo once per week. co-washing is the only way I am able to wear puffs and such.

A Co Wash is washing your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo.

It's possible that your hair may grow faster by washing it more frequently. Keeping your hair and scalp clean can encourage hair growth.

I know it's true in my case.
Ever since I've been Co Washing more frequently my hair growth rate has increased.

I wash my hair just about every week, maybe twice if I have the time.  My hair has improved.  It makes sense that it may improve the health of your hair, and possibly grow a lot more because your head isn't built up with products

Is it true your hair grow fast when you wash it every week?
 one of my friends told me that in the summer she washed and conditioned her hair every week and it grew alot.
