Well I went for it! I cut out my sew-in wefts and put back in with pro-tac and while I found it was easier than I thought, it was still a humorous afternoon.
With tangling the tape on my fingers, on the end of the weft, etc and THEN not being able to get it off my fingers and stick to my hair, I finally got the whole head done.
I didn't use the JETSET, the color was horrible and I sent it back (this is the 2nd time) and was so desperate for some hair that I got some $30 BSS hair and salvaged some of the other hair that I cut out.
It was a learnng experience and I can tell this will take some practice, but I think my job was better than the 'professional'job I got at the salon!
I am #613 but decided to use 4 oz of a medium ash brown to simulate lowlights. I actually like it. I know I needs lots more practice with weft placement and razoring the hair, but I still got compliments at work today.
If I can figure out how to post some pix I will. I encourage any other newbies who are hesitant about DIY, just go for it! I just need to order some more tape from Sherrie now. I can't wait to try again.
