To be fair though, it depends on how long you want to go. When I want short hair (think Selene from Underworld), I can use regular beauty supply store hair, because of the (crap) quality of it, I can get that messy bedhead look I like. But the longer the hair is, the more evidant the quality of it will be. If you have 18" long hair of crap quality, it will turn into a rat's nest. I also like to vary my look and wear very long hair, tailbone length and longer, and when I go that long, I need great quality hair. If the price is an issue, good quality synthetic hair is comparable to medium quality human hair, for a fraction of the price.

Yeah, use good hair once, and you can never go back (I believe). I had awesome hair my first install, so after that I've been a very harsh critic on other types of hair!
Since I am new to all of this, I really don't have a bench mark on what is good quality and what is bad qualtiy. I have been using BSS hair the past month and havn't tried any really GOOD hair yet. Maybe I don't know what I am missing yet?

Yaki is a texture of hair, ment to simulate the permed straight texture of black hair. Like any other texture, you can find it cheap (usually bad quality), to very expensive (usually high quality).
I see that it is dirt cheap for human hair. What is wrong with it, if anything? My own hair is very coarse and curly, strange thick texture. Would this be an option for me?
I still need to practice with pro-tac and my razor before I install some luscious Bohyme hair and figure that I can use Yaki if I am only wearing it 1-2 weeks at a time.
