Hey Lynn, so heres my take on the poof problem .Because brand new hair tends to be coated with silicone , it lays much flatter and at times might be tricky to gage how much new hair to add. I remember the first time I got extensions, as soon as I washed them, they felt twice as big and it ended up being that I didnt need all that hair. So if this is your first time with this type of extension the great thing is maybe next time you can use less hair Also a great haircut after the extensions might also help.
In terms of products, whats worked for my extensions was using a silicone serum when my hair iwas wet. Then when they were dry I would spray "spoil me"by bed head its a defrizzer, smoother. It helps to detangle my extensions and helps them lay better. Also if I want "shine"but dont want the heaviness of a silicone product on dry hair I use "headrush"by bedhead. If your going to flat iron, I also would recommend that you dont blow dry your hair, but let it air dry. That way you cut down on the amount of heat used
sharbin54- I am using seamless wefts from glamour hair. The hair doesn't seem to be all that great unfortunately :(
malibu - I have used human hair in the past but I have much more experience with synthetic. At first I thought I just didn't remember how to care for human hair, but now I realize The His and Her and bohyme that I used had a much nicer texture than the hair on these seamless wefts.

thanks Tangles - one question though - is flat ironing ok to do or will it reduce the life of the hair? I'm trying to get as much mileage out of these skin wefts as possible.
I do wear my hair straight, so any product that helps make it straight is good in my book! I just bought the Matrix sleek serum so we'll see how it works. thanks!

I really like the Matrix sleek line, the shampoo and conditioner are a
great prep and really work great. I like the styling cream and
serum also, but I don't like the flat iron spray at all. I also
don't like the waxy stuff in the jar, but I forget what that is called.
I would only suggest these products if you are wearing your hair
straight since it makes it so straight and smooth that it is hard to
curl even with hot rollers (my curl fell out in a few hours in hair
that holds all day with other shampoos/conditioners). I also only
use it on the extension hair, since when I use it on my real hair it
makes it too fine and silky to cover the microrings I added on the top
(most of my real hair is in cornrows since I have the sew in's, the
only natural hair I have left out is on top and of course I added
microrings to it lol). My natural hair is curly, and even though
it is fine it has a coarse texture to it that makes it cover just about
anything up, except for when I use this stuff.

any of those silicone serums, i like the one in the SAMY line (i bought it because the dispenser is cute and pink, but it actually is a good product)....i put it down the length while my hair is still damp
so I did my first wash since my protac install and now the hair is 'bigger' than before. The difference in texture between the extension hair and my own is now more obvious. What are good products to use to tame it down?
