Kuroneko, I think your observation is very astute. It isn't the color, such as red, blue, green, and so forth, that is usually an issue when talking about hair or clothes, it's the tone of the color. Anyone can wear red! However, the tone of the red makes all the difference in the world. Someone with black hair and golden skin would look great in a burgundy color, but someone with natural blond hair and slightly more pink skin would look better with a red that has an orange or yellow tone to it.

I do believe that, YES, you would have to bleach back to blonde if you didn't like that red. I don't know that there's any way around it. I imagine the blonde is REALLY gonna grab the red.
I think a light red could look good on your. A lot of blondes out there are doing it right now and it looks surprisingly nice. Is it possible for you to try a wig? Or try that thing with the picture sight like the girl above me said.
Hi, I have the same problem as you. I don't look good at all with dark hair. My hair was white blonde as a child, but the older that I got, it got darker. So what I have been doing for many years now, is bleaching my hair to white, "platinum". I have dyed my hair dark before, but I look totally ridiculous. haha I have always wanted to have my hair dark, with red on the tips of my spikes (I have short/spiked hair)
They always say, that people who have dark hair, want to be blondes, and the people who are blondes want to be brunette. haha
On Clairol.com they have a makeover section, on where you can upload your pic and still keep your hairstyle, but change different colors on your hair, it's pretty cool, so check it out.
i have a question. i am one of those people that any dark shade whether it be hair colour, foundation..eye liner etc anything dark looks terrible on me, weighs down my hair and makes me look ten years older. my natural hair colour is a darkish brown. [ which is a pain because i really like the gothic look, and on my sister the tanned/dark hair spanish look really suits her but hey! thats life :) ]
ive tried black/brown/even mahogany chestnut all those colours looked bad.
blond which is my hair colour at the moment, looks really good on me. however it looks a bit fake, i would love to go another colour which wouldnt make me look gloomy and not be completly fake ie pink or blue or something crazy like that.
im thinking firey/ bright red (not mahogany which is a darker red as that didnt suit me).
however before dyeing it i am wondering a couple of things.
if dark red doesnt suit me, would lighter red ie firey red look good?
also, if it looks bad, then to go blond again id have to bleach my hair wouldnt i which i really wouldnt be too happy about. so is it a good idea to dye it. is there anyone else here who has the same problem as me, that dark colours dont suit them, and if so what does light fiery red (not pink) look like on them
thanks for taking the time to read through my message.
