[Camila of Paris]

Camila - Interlocking Combs - Black (2)

We carry them in black and tort.  They are extremely popular but we reorder them all the time for our many customers that enjoy wearing them.

We used to also carry the Karina version but they were much harder to wear and so we stopped carrying them for that reason.

These are actually two separate combs that have a thick bridge to help hold them in place.  These will NOT do well for anyone with slippery, fine or thin strands.  They work perfectly for medium to thick hair that has some texture or is not stick straight.  You can wear them so that the teeth "interlock" with hair interlaced between the teeth OR you can wear one comb at a time (which I do all the time).  They work really well for shoulder length or longer hair and well for thick hair that is below chin length and longer.

I personally wear them all the time and love them.  People stop me on the street all the time to ask where I got them and I just give them the card for the store.  The key to wearing them is having the right hair type and texture and then when you put them in, make sure you have enough hair threaded between the teeth to help hold the combs securely in place.

They are very hard to find because of the way that they are made and the fact that some people have a difficult time wearing them in their hair.  If they can't  happily wear them in their hair they usually want to send them back...and unfortunately we can't resell hair accessories that have been in someone's hair (health codes).  Which is why you may find them on EBay from time to time.  People buy them - try them - can't return them and then put them on EBay.

This brand is considered top of the line in the interlocking combs although we have seen the hand crafted ones from France that are a lot more expensive.

Hope that helps.

PS. By the way, if someone wants these and the store shows that we are out, just sign up and you will be emailed automatically when they are back in stock.  We are almost out at this point but will have more soon.

lol...nope!

That is one clip with a hinge...the ones we're looking for are two individual combs...no hinge. You can hold one in your left hand and the other in your right while you put them in your hair.

This is funny!

I have no idea what they're called...do they even have a name?

You're certainly no idiot, I know just what you're talking about. But I'm so sorry I can't help you out with a name!

ok, when i was a kid my mother used to have these hair clips that looked almost like a banana clip, but they were bigger and they were two separate combs.  i haven't seen these things since the mid 90's and everytime i ask someone about them they look at me like i'm an idiot. does anyone remember what they're called?
