Hi,

Sorry to hear about all the butinskis in your life who try and tell you what to do about your hair. You would not believe how many emails I always get from people about husbands, boyfriends, lovers, friends who try and tell them how to wear their hair.

You are right, extensions are very expensive and if you want to have them, you should have them. Everyone has the right to wear their hair in any way that they choose regardless of what anyone says.

As far as the putdowns, I would either tell them that you really don't care to hear their opinion or ignore them completely. You could also politely let them know that telling you how to wear your hair is rude and insensitive. I am not sure which idea suits you best, but you get my drift.

As far as checking out the best look for your hair and face shape, I would suggest that you try on different wigs in different lengths to get an idea of what style, thickness and shape of hair would suit you best. It doesn't matter what face shape you have. Everyone can wear their hair in a flattering style no matter what shape of face that they have.

Also, hair extensions can be used to thicken hair as well as lengthen it.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes on a fabulous wedding.

Karen

Hi

This is my first time posting on this forum. I have always admired long, beautiful hair and my compliments to all the ladies (and guys) who have such hair. I, on the other hand, have very fine, thin hair that simply refuses to grow past my shoulders. So, for my wedding in October I am going to have extensions added so that I can wear my hair in waves to compliment my medieval-style dress. My problem is this -- my fiance's ex-wife has very long, thick hair (which I admire) and unfortunately an incredibly bitchy personality. She always finds a way to make a snide remark about my thin hair. Knowing her, I am convinced she is going to say something nasty to me about my "fake" hair when she sees me, and I was hoping for advice on how to deal with this so that I don't stoop to her level, but on the other hand I don't want to feel bad about my new long hair, or have anything spoil my wedding day. My life-long dream has been to have long hair and I will be going to considerable expense to achieve this and to join the ranks -- albeit cheating -- of the long-haired women. My mother also seems to think long hair won't really suit me. I have an oval to longish shaped face with very delicate features.
I really would like advice on how to deal with all these put downs, even my mom's which is meant in a nice way. I am 29 years old.
Thanks again
je
