Hi Splash:
Everyone loses anywhere from 75 to 100 hairs per day. This is normal shedding. If you think that you are over and above this amount then there is cause for concern. If the cause is medical, and only a Dr. can decide this, than he will probably advise some sort of treatment or medication. The problem may be caused by stress or bad diet. Going to the salon and getting a scalp massage once a week may help. Sometimes people will lose pateches of hair in spots due to some type of stress in their life. Usually when things get back to normal the hair will grow back.

How can you tell if you are losing your hair or if it's that 7-year shedding thing I've heard about? When is hair loss a cause for concern? I'm losing a lot of hair lately. I've tried Nioxin straight for months. I've tried using baby shampoos. I'm young and in great health. I am really scared.
