Hi Heidi,
I think the very best thing you can do is to take some photos of the bed heads that are in the article here at HairBoutique.com OR from some hair styling mags. Most stylists do best when they have an image to look at. I know it helps me a lot to see what I am dealing with.
I actually had Shelley Pryor cut my bangs into a mini bedhead although she left my length alone. Basically she took a scissors and cut into my hair at angles to get the hair to stick up.
I didn't like it on me. It looked odd with my long hair so I let it grow out. But it was cool the first day or two.
I think that a photo would help a lot and then tell her to cut into the hair at an angle to get the hair to stand up.
If you still have questions you can write to HairBoutique.com's Jane Bullock who has a fabulous bedhead and has had one for over 1 year.
Best wishes, Karen
That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
I'm really interested in getting the bed head cut, but I live in a small town and don't know how to explain the cut to my stylist. My hair falls slightly below my ears and is one length. It's thick and curly. Could someone please help me? I read the article here, where it said you twirl the hair and cut it in notches. Is that enough information or do I need more. Thanks.
