Thanks.
I got a few extensions last year, just some colorful added and the
salon recommmended a shampoo I bought. When I looked at it now it had
sulfate but they said it was good for the extensions.
Hrm, and I realized a shower filter will not work on my shower. Bummer...
Even working with and supplying sulfate-free soaps, I'm also a frequent user of shampoos with sulfates. There's a few that make my extensions perform and survive longer than using non-sulfate shampoos. I'll take a sulfates product over a high protein product any ole day.

Hi Angeldream, I think that hair looks pretty nice. It's all about choosing the hair that works for you. If you want straight hair I think it takes more work after, unless it is really blended well. I think layering would be preferred for the girl on pic 3.
I learn to love and try to understand everyone I meet. I see the rainbow hiding in their eyes.

I started with a short pixie (mostly about 1 1/2 - 2" of hair) almost exactly one year ago. I wore a wig for the first six months because my hair was too short to do extensions easily. In February I started wearing wefts with Protac/LG and have been wearing extensions constantly. My hair is now 6 - 7" long (chin-length on the sides, down my collar in the back) and is beautifully shiny, healthy, and has no damage that I can see. As far as products, I've used Pureology shampoo, a shower filter, and mostly Schwarzkopf Bonacure Total Repair Treatment as my conditioner. You can check out my link to see my progress as of a few months ago.
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

Damage depends on alot of different things. First and most important is proper and careful installation, along with proper care and maintenience and removal. No method should damage hair. Although some methods are better suited to certain hair types. And some methods are more prone to damage on someone with fine, thin, weak or brittle hair.
You should be able to wash your hair extensions just as you would your natural hair. But excessive washing will shorten the life of the hair. If you can cut back at least a little its usually best.
The best shampoos are sulfate free products. Any brand of sulfate free products work well. The sulfates are very drying. Its also a good cheap investment to invest in a shower filter if your tap water has chlorine in it, as chlorine is also very drying to your hair and hair extensions. You can condition and moisturize as usual, but keeping the conditioner off of the bonds. Just conditioning the lengths is sufficient.
I was wondering, how much damage does hairextensions do that are
glued?? Could I try to grow my own hair while wearing Xtensions??
If one has Xtensions is there a time where one should say, take a break and not wear them??
Also, I read that one should not wash once hair more then twice a week
but then I also read one should wash every other day... ??
What kind of schampoo should one use and how often should one
Moisturize?? (Oh, since I live in Sweden we may not have the same kind
of schampoo and such that you do so if you could give me more then one
suggestion for products that would be great.)
