Try washing it with clarifying shampoo or liquid dish detergent......several times a day for several days. It won't lighten the color instantly or drastically, but it's alot safer than lightening (another name for bleaching....which is the only way you can dramatically and instantly lighten it) it right now since it appears to be a semi-permanent color. In a couple of days after washing several times a day you should see fading occur. Just remember to condition, condition, condition afterwards.
If you still aren't happy or are impatient, it won't fry your hair if you use a bleach/lightening color this soon. However, I wouldn't suggest the full processing time. As long as you stay in the 'ash' ranges and only leave it on for a few minutes you shouldn't get orange or warm tones.
If you do use another product I strongly suggest you do a strand test and try it for only 5 minutes first. And make sure it says beaching or lightening on the box. Better yet.....go to Sally Beauty Supply and get professional products versus the over the counter stuff.

Hrmm ok so the Loreal natural match must be a semi-perm if it has no ammonia. Which is not a bad thing because it should wash out eventually. But like loreal said, to go lighter you will have to use a permanent colour that has lightening ability. Personally, i wouldnt use a permanent colour at the moment. I would buy a slightly darker/less grey shade of blonde and colour over what you have (you will have to go abit darker with a semi-permanent because they wont lighten your hair). This will make ure hair more bearable for a month...and then do as loreal suggest and try to lighten it up abit (dye would have faded by then).
Im sure someone with abit more knowledge will be able to offer better advice but if all else fails, the above would be the safest option =) goodluck!
Ok, so I dyed my hair today (first time I have done it myself) and I dont like the color...My natural hair color is dark ash blonde/light brown and I had a lot of blonder highlights before I colored. I used Loreal Natural Match 8N (Medium blonde natural) I wanted to lighten the overall color of my hair just sligthly, make it cooler, and sort of even out the color and get rid of all of those highlights. It did come out cooler, and the color is nice and even now, but its way darker than what is on the box, and my hair is generally darker than it was before - its sort of grayish beige very dark ash blonde. I really dont like it and want to fix ASAP! I called loreal, and they told me that Natural Match cant lighten hair bc it doesnt have ammonia (funny it didnt say anything about no lightening on the box, and the 'after' picture was way lighter than the 'before' picture) They said that I should wait 4-6 weeks and then use a more traditional dye to lighten my hair (like excellence or preference). ok, but i really dont want to be stuck with this gray dishwater head for a month!! What will happen if I dye it tomorrow? will it fall out or turn orange? I cant really afford to go to a salon to fix....any help or advice would be SO APPRECIATED!
