the orange oil will work too. Some people prefer it over acetone. Personally the orange oil burns the heck out of my skin and scalp and I cant use it. But many people have great success with the orange oil.
I remove my fusion extensions myself, using acetone and pinching the bond with flat nose pliers several times until the bond crumbles, then I can usually pull at the end of the extension hair and most of it comes out. If there is still glue, I put a few more drops of acetone on it and crunch with the pliers again, then use a fine tooth comb. It takes me 5 HOURS to get them out!!!!!!! but I am VERY careful not to break any of my own hair, as I do not have much to spare and it is a very fine texture.
I don't think my hair is liking all of that acetone. It is becoming frizzy and my extension hair is healthier than my own!!!
I am looking for something else to remove the bonds with, they are keratin. I have seen things such as orange oil, and I wonder how they work and if they are harder to use. Any advice would be helpful!!!
Well, I finally got all the extensions out. I have white clumps
of glue still in there... so I started to think about how you shouldn't
treat extensions.... i coated my hair with 1/2 tube of conditioner and
slowly it's coming out. No more fusion for me!
Hi all! Long time lurker, new member here. So I'm taking
out my fusion bonds with acetone and they come out fine, but it leaves
a lot of residue in my hair (I mean enough to do another bond
to!). So besides actually dunking my head in a bucket of acetone
(thought about it but thought it be a bad idea)...
i wish there was a shampoo or something to get it all over and
out. I tried putting some fusions in my hair but decided it was
going to take forever... so i think I'm going to try Protac with my
left over hari. All this acetone and tension on a single clump of
hair can't be good~ I just can't wait to get them back
in!!!
ps- this forum rocks! i have learned so much that the girl at the hair supply thought I was a professional!
