Just get ATG #3, thats what I always give myself. And you basically cut the opposite way you brush your hair. You can't do one section WTG and the Other ATG or else it'll be uneven cuz you'll be using different sizes.

Basically Wtg(with the grain) is the way ur hair grows.. So If you brush ur hair from the top the bottom... t\Then ur back down... ,and ur sides down at a diagonal angle... Thats the way you cut it... But if you cut ATg thats against the grain so its cuttin the opposite of wtg......The top part you cut from ur forehead to r crown...Crown -.which is where the back of ur hair meets the top.... and the back going down and so forth.. Is this specific enough for you? Or bring yo behind to the barber lol.... Or ask yo barber to explain to you

He said #3 im pretty sure if i can read correctly....Since its number 3 you should be cuttin against the grain ATg....

okay i just bought a hair clipper with a number 3 guard how do i cut it   please be very descripitive i tried cutting my beard with it on and it made me bald on my chin what am i doing wrong
