A lot of people leave them in for six months. The girl who cuts my hair
leaves hers in for six months. You can do it of course but you're
putting a lot of weight on the few strands of hair that's left holding
the bond.

I don't have fushion in but heat seals, and I also have had this problem, I think my issues was leaving shampoo on my head too long, and not rinseing well, also, I tend to PULL my hair too hard when I brush... I switched to a baby shampoo and HOLD on bonds (like I should) and I havent had as many problems :)
Well I left mine in for almost 6 months and to be honest they held up well! I did not pull on them or anything. They came off pretty easy though. I geuss not eveyones hair is different.

OMG, take those out honey!!! It's probably ripping your hair out at this point!! And try some DIY method, it's so much cheaper, and you never ever ever leave them on that long again!!
i agree 3 months for most people is it for hair done in the fusion method. some people hair grows faster so it may be shorter than 3 months. but sherrie is exactly right when she said the part about stress on your hair. the bonds may last for 6 months...but take that does not mean its good for youe hair to leave them in. to take them out use a dandruff shampoo for a few washings wish helps break them down. i dont know what kind you have in but alachol or acetone will them out. there are post on removal you should look them up. this is of course if you dont want to pay to have them removed

Its normal for your hair to shed. What hair would normally fall after shedding will be trapped in the bond and that may be what you are seeing.
As Malibu stated...3 months is THE MAX amount of time anyone should leave them in, again this depends on hair growth. The reason 3 months is the typical time frame is that your hair grows about 1/2 inch per month so by 3 months your hair has grown close to 1 & 1/2 inch. Once the bonds are over 1 inch to 1 &1/2 the hairs that have shed and cant fall will be wrapping and tangling around that bond area. And there will be fewer strands of natural hair supporting the the weight of the extension, the shed hairs that are trapped and the bond, causing stress on your natural hair. This can cause root pull, severe matting and tangling and are easier to snag/catch with a brush or comb.
If your extension is further than 1 & 1/2 inch its due time to have them removed. With my rate of growth I can only get about 10/11 weeks from any strand method.
never EVER believe anyone who tells you they are good for 6 months.
I've had my human hair extensions in since late June. I got the fusion kind done. My root has grown maybe three inches along with them. I was wondering... is it normal for some of my roots to become unattached as they're growing? Is this a sign of damage or me losing my hair?
I paid $1600 not inluding a tip... I'm only 16. I don't feel like going bald anytime soon. and my stylist told me they would last for 6 months.
