Thank you Shary for your advise. Today my hair seems a little better. I did buy a moisturizing shampoo and I didn't use conditioner on my roots. I was so worried yesterday that I did damage to my hair. It just doesn't pay to do at home hair stuff, I know better.
Take care! Gail

I agree with Sharyq11.
Additionally, if your hair is a "lighter" color, you can try sprinkling some baby powder on your roots and combing it through.  That will help absorb some of the oil.  (Not recommended for dark hair, though!)
Good luck!

The color you used could have been to harsh, and might have overdried your scalp. Your scalp responds by over producing oil to make up for the dryness. Don't overwash or you will make the problem worst. Don't go buy a shampoo for oily hair either, as it may dry your scalp even more. Get a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for colored treated hair. I don't color my hair so I don't know which brands are best for colored hair. But I use Redken wich is a great brand and I know they have a formula for hair that is colored.
Don't wash your hair everyday. I know it will be tough the first couple of days. But you have to give your scalp the time to re-adjust, so it doesn't have to keep overproducing oil. I would say wash every other day, or every two days would be even better.

Another solution would be to try the Cider vinegar wash instead of shampoo, and then apply the conditioner. The vinegar should really help balance out the ph and it won't strip your color, or dry out your scalp.

God luck. Much love, Shary

I recently colored my hair and my roots/crown of my head hair is extremely oily. Why did this happen? I have washed my hair over and over to remove the oil and it won't go away. I need some expert advice! The product did not contain any henna either.
