I used psssssst! for years.  But, we've found a better product of the kind on the market.  Algemarin Dry Hair Shampoo.  Hair feels "tighter" and looks sharp.  Quality stuff.

We buy it from Amazon.  The link to the main website for the product is http://store.facosmetics.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=105

psssssst! instant spray shampoo--- after reading about that on here, I bought it from from drugstore.com and I really like it!! I usually used a little bit of baby powder on my roots, but this seems to really do the trick. My hair also tends to get a little flat, and this gives a nice clean boost.

Someone mentioned on it about it having alcohol in it, and that it might loosen your extensions? Ehh...I hope not! I have just been spraying it in the root area of my partline and above my extensions so I hope its okay. Has anyone experienced the loosening of their bonds due to this stuff? Mine seem to be doing fine with it.

It is for thinning hair but it also works to harden the bonds.

Any other good tips out there?

I recently heard that Nioxin is great for fusion hair.  My stylist says the shampoo actually hardens the bonds.

Hi Chicas!
I have found a lot of good non sulfate shampoos at my organice store.
And they were not crazy expensive.
I have Sherrie's non sulfate shampoo too and it's really good!

As far as sulfate free stuff goes, Sherrie has some stuff on her website that people have said good things about...and it's affordable! Abba, I believe is sulfate free. Don't quote me on that one, though:)

( Geez-- makes me sound like a dirtbag! lol)I am so worried about it, I am afraid others smell it too! I think maybe the braids trap the sweat and the combination with oil from my scalp is causing the problem. I need something for those days! Would this help?

Regular cornstarch sprinkled through your pinch braids and then dusted off with your clean fingertips mayl help.  So will regular cornmeal but use only a tiny bit so you can dust it out which will remove any stale aromas or dirt.

Can you guys reccemend some sulfer-free products? The only one my stylist knows of is by Pureology, and I had a really bad allergic reaction to it.

I'm getting my extensions put back in Wed. so any help would be greatly greatly appreciated! :)

I tried the psssssst! stuff recently, and i LOVE it. I have fine hair, and if I don't wash it every day, it gets oily at the scalp and I have weft show-through! Ahhhhh! This completely alleviates the problem and looks great. No white or anything like a lot of powder shampoos can have. Great suggestion! LOVE IT!Tongue

Oh, and I've also tried the dryer sheets! I rubbed them on my roots and it did get rid of the dirty hair smell!

I too have the same problem with having to wash every other day because of my oily scalp. I have been using Algemarina Dry-Shampoo. It comes out white, but once it's in my hair it blends in or melts or something.

Also, another little trick I use to extend between washings is to take all of the hair that is on top of my head that does not have extensions attatched and wash and condition only that. I pull the rest of the hair that has extensions attatched back in a low bun to keep it out of the way.

I have a client who wears a hard bond hairpiece, sometimes he gets that "wet dog smell" I think moisture gets trapped inside and this is what is causing the smell. How about using a med. setting blowdryer after workout? Sorry I couldn't be more help on this one. I would love to find something that works.
