Well if you ask my personal opinion, perms are not nearly as hot as the hair press would have us believe for the present.
I think people will always get perms no matter whether they are in fashion or not, but I think that right now the trend is for hair to be softer and sleeker and more natural. I also think that curls are considered more desirable as a result of hot sets or even old fashioned pin curls and rollers and not so much as a result of using perms or chemicals. It is my personal opinion that perms are not as popular now as they were a year ago at this time.
Again, this is my own personal opinion so that it for that.
