I guess my questions would be do you think this will be ok or should I mix it with an ash color, or even going with just a “cool” color all together? A great idea is to call the 800 number on the product box and talk it over with the operators. They can often help you figure out what can happen in general. I would call them first to find out. A strand test also seems like a great idea. From what I have heard unless you use one of the accelerator color formulas you will have to wait the full time for the color to develop as they state on the instructions.
