Yeah, I hand sew the 2 wefts together, one slightly below the other to avoid bulk but I've never used my machine...Then the last step I sew on the clip. That way works the best for me.
If you're still looking at how to sew multiple wefts for clip-ins, I had made some last year that I lapped (so that the wefts weren't on top of each other) to avoid a larger bulk. Those were cheap bss machine wefts, and yes, I machine sewed them in zig-zag.
Have you seen Raquel Welch's newer 2 piece system? It might give you another idea. When you go to the link I'm putting in here, go down to about 2/3 of the page and select the video that says 2 piece extension system. That's really cheap for clips. The store near me charges $2/clip. That
doesn't mean they're any better. Who knows...definetly try them in the
store.
Are you wefts machine wefts? Sewing through the machine wefts
seems to be fine but sewing through hand tied wefts is not good. Here's

That sounds like a good deal for clips. They don't have them where I live, so I got mine onlne.
Hand sewing them can be easier than machine sewing based on what machine you have, but like you said, all you have to do is stagger them together and you're set! Good luck:)

I was going to get my clips from my local store, they do a good price for 24 small clips (�5.99)
Using the sewing machine sounds like a really good way of getting a secure hold between the two wefts.
I'll try the small single stitch first then borrow a sewing machine.
But all I have to do is stagger the top of one weft under the other and secure them together and the carry on as if it was one normal weft just bigger?
I like the small clips better, too, though I didn't wear clip-ins for very long so I don't know how they are longer term
For a double wefted clip in, I sewed the two wefts together on the sewing machine with a zig zag stitch (which is easy to do by hand, too), with a thread that matches the hair/weft, then I stitched the clips on like it is shown on the link above. They always held really well for me, I could brush them, wear them all day, etc., with no slippage.

Yeah, I like the small clips better than the big ones. They feel more
comfortable. Are you buying the clips at the store? If so, try them
first on your hair and make sure they don't slide.
I just sewd the clips on the top weft and the stiches in between are
from attaching the two wefts together. I took the second weft and sewd
it to the first weft a little bit under, about 1/4 inch and staggered
the two wefts a bit. Does that make sense?
