PROTAC is a strip of clear sticky stuff that comes 10" long and you put it on the front and back of the weft then section hair and stick it on the parting and it works well for me. Its available from some online stores in the states and from www.connect-2-hair.co.uk and some other uk stores. I've shopped around and found that connect-2-hair's website's price for PROTAC is the cheapest at the moment.

I purchased JASONS shampoo and conditioner from a health store in Cardiff. You can get it mail order as well. JASONS is an American company and is also cruelty free. I am very impressed so far with the products.
I am sorry if this sounds thick: But what is protac please?

I bought some sulphate free shampoo from connect-2-hair too and its a white colour with not much perfume in but I found it great for my extensions but the consistency of the shampoo was very thick so you only need a little bit its very concentrated and I put too much on first time and it frothed up a lot. Got used to it now and only put a very very small amount on and my hair feels great.

on your top two rows, are they long temple to temple rows or shorter peices? I have 2 shorter pieces on the sides above my temple to temple rows and these two rows slip the fastest for me. Sometimes I have to redo the short rows about every 3 weeks. LG might hold better on those top rows. It does hold better on this area for me.
Sherrie - yes I am keeping conditioner away from the tapes, and when install I press really hard and finish with heat then a little voice in my head says 'press, press, press'. See I do read your messages, you all give great advise. The only product apart from shampoo and conditioner I use, is a leave on serum that goes nowhere near the tapes.
I have just installed a couple of rows on the top with LG maybe that will help protect the protac rows beneath, as it only seems the top 2 rows that slip badly.
Nursie - I will use this sulfate free hydrating shampoo on the ends and maybe get Pantene clarifying shampoo for the top.
ooooo, in my experience with protac slipping, MOISTURIZING and HYDRATING shampoo has been the culprit...sulfate free is good for the ends, but most often the sulfate free shampoos are also moisturizing formulas.....to better keep the tapes intact, i use a clarifying formula on my scalp and save the moisturizing/sulfate free stuff for the length of my extensions.....im not from the UK, im sorry i dont know whats on the shelves over there !

I dont really think that sulafate free shampoo will prevent pro-tac from slipping. I dont think all shampoos with sulfates is what causes some people to have problems with slipping.
First I would look at other possibilities which may be more likely to be the culprit. Are you keeping the conditioners away from th tapes? Are you making sure to press them in really good when you install? Are you using any products that are really rich in emollients or oily type products?
I think some people have experienced some slipping with some 'similar' types of shampoos whether it be sulfate free or not.
The advantage of using sulfate free shampoo is just thats its less drying to the hair, since it doesnt contain sulfate which is a harsh detergent.
You can buy sulphate free shampoo off www.connect-2-hair.co.uk i just ordered a load of stuff off there to do my first pro tac install! hope that helps.

OKI have just spent all day walking around Town looking for sulfate free shampoo. I eventually found 'NakedShine' hydrating shampoo in Boots. I have had a problem with Protac slipping so hopefully this will solve the problem. I will let you know how I get on with it. If any other UK girls know of any other brands of sulfate free shampoo that can be obtained here in the UK please share info.
