Hi. I wore Hairlocs and had them removed about a month ago. It uses no glue or heat. Its a tiny copper band that attaches the extension hair to your own at the root. The hair is very nice but my guess is its Indian. I liked it at first, but after about 3 months, it got ragged and I was only shampooing about once a week and not heat styling.

I found that the copper attachments really dont hold very well and I lost quite a few just during the first week. I could just pull them out with my fingers so the hair began to look sparse soon after the install.

I went back and she replaced the missing bonds and they seemed to stay in a little better but I dont like a method where you have to be so gentle you can barely put any stress on the hair. It just didnt work for me and possibly because my hair is just too fine and silky textured.

They might work for others with slightly more course hair. Good luck.

Yes check your refrences. I have tons and tons of pics and refrences as well.
just cause someone has taken the class, it doesnt mean they know what they are doing. i do ALOT of repair work from stylists all over and yes they are also certified!
Its  a shame the work i have seen.

If I may ask..why isn't the stylist going to use extension hair from Hairlocs?  Hairlocs has a very good quality of hair.  Is the stylist certified in Hairlocs or is it a similar method.  Just curious.

Hello all- thanks for your advice on my other post.  I just got back from my consultation and the extentionist recommended HairLocs.  I guess it's like a little tube that they put around your hair & then melt it on?  What are your opinions on this method?  Also, she offered to buy the hair for me.  She uses "European" hair- whatever that means.  I said I might buy the hair myself, just because I want to make sure I get the best for my money- I plan to use it again.  Do any of you recommend a website where I can buy high quality hair?  What is the best hair called?  Remy or something? Thanks a lot!
