A little bit only, and don't worry about brushing, I have never experienced problems with that!

No don't worry it doesn't sound stupid.
All these install explanations make sense for the one who gives them but they are sometimes hard to get for others..been there!
Protac is divided in two half right? You put the weft(s) inside and press it hard and then apply it on your head. One side of the sticky tape is against your head, you don't see it, so that's why I always keep the entire width of the bottom tape. The other side is up and is the side that shows a bit.
You do have to pull a layer of your own hair to hide it a bit and no, it doesn't damage your own hair at all to do that.
(You'll see for yourself when you do the removal, there's not a single hair pulled, with acetone or citrus oil, it's very gentle trust meEmbarrassed)
When I am about to install a top rows of Protac, I usually cut one quarter of the tape, that is to say I cut in half one half of the tape.
Then I put the weft(s) in the tape and close it and heat it up a bit.
Theside of the tape that is normal size, I put it against the scalp (the half that doesn't show) and the other side of the tape (that has been cut in half) I put it on top, then pull a layer of my own hair above it.
This way the surface of Protac tape that shows a little is twice smaller.
I hope this makes sense this time!

HI THANKS FOR THE REPLY. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW YOU DO IT. im not quite sure i understand. do you just put in tape with the weft or do you put a layer of your hair over the weft?? im worrying about doing it that way/ does it damage the hair layer that is pulled over the weft onto the tape. will it cause it to break?? please explain me your method and how long it lasts. i know i seem stupid but im neww to doing this alone. im putting them in because i have thin hair to begin with and i dont want to lose anymore of it. i need it to hold in the extensions ya know. lol!!!
