Ahhh so the weft is sticking to the tape, but the tape is not sticking to your head.. Sherrie might be right.. maybe it's time to try the LG alone and see if that resolves the problem.. Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble..

Yeah, I got some LG, I think you are right and I will use that alone, maybe something just weird going on.
I use ajax soap, it's what I've used since I started installing pro-tacs. Literally nothing has changed that I can think of, soap, shampoos, method of installing.
Unless it's something like in our building they replaced something in the water system, because they turned our water off for a while. Something like that??
Who knows, i am going to do the LG install tonight, and if that falls out...omg....lol.

Naked Eye, it might be a good time to take a break from Protac. I would suggest to add some LG to your protac installs or try LG alone. I have always had an issue with my top (side) rows of protac becuase my hair is so fine in the side/crown area and adding LG on the protac did the trick.
Also....just a thought, what type of dishsoap are you using?
Thanks ladies, I will have to check out the tapes, but I had 2 separate sets of tapes, so I found it hard to believe that I would only get tapes from the one "bad" set, if there is one, but I guess it's possible.
I used dishsoap, and I washed with it prob about 5 times before installing because last time i had probs, and I had lots of product in my hair (and because I'm anal! ) So I didn't think that was it...I did everything the same as I had installed in the past, that's why I can't figure this out.
Amm-I thought it might be that, and I figured if they kept sliding out I would do what metal girl suggested with the alcohol, the weird thing was that they were still in the tapes, jsut the tapes fell off my head. So I don't think it was a problem with the wefts (there wer eonly 2 that I was having probs with and couldn't get to stay in the tapes during the install)
Meh, I don't know, I am praying they have LG at some store around here, or some other type of glue besides latex, this time.
I feel so alone because everyone LOVED the bohyme FR, and the pro-tacs I loved, and I feel like what is going on here???
Don't feel alone, Naked. I've only had one type of hair slip out of my tapes before and it was Bohyme hand-tied. I thought maybe the smaller wefts had something to do with it but I've ruled that out.
metalgirl suggested trying to get the coating off the hair before placing in the bonding tapes. The next time I have a Bohyme (or any hair with a slippery coating) install planned, I'm doing just that.
Also, there are "old" bonding strips out there. Look at the white peel-off top. It should be clean, shiny and completely smooth. If it's crinkled or cracking, it's old tape.
i dunno, have you thought about ALL the different products you put in your hair lately? i know you already shampoo with claryfing shampoo real well first, hmmm..maybe if youve been using the same shampoo for a while you could try a different one first this time ( i use Prell before my protac installs)....protac tape seems to store well (i've had some sitting in a drawer since march and its still fine) so i dont think 'old protacs' would be the problem.....on one of my installs just to experiment i put little dots of LG along the length of the outside of the protac tape for my bottom row and that sucker stayed snug, maybe you could try that instead of just giving up on the protac...good luck naked eye!

OMG...Now I am so sad, and so frustrated!! I feel like a curse has been put on me!
So I had been having problems with the bohyme and pro-tacs, and I thought something, because I dyed the hair, and conditioned before installing, I thought maybe I was having problems because of that.
So I installed Tues evening, didn't shower until now, Friday afternoon, so I figured that was more than enough time to wait. So I showered, and I felt the bottom one start to slip right when I got into the water (which for some reason is typical for me I think because I wear my hair up so much for work) so I didn't care, I figured I could jsut take it out, then I felt the top one start to lift up, and figured, meh, I'll add more hair in the top anyways.
So then by the time I shampooed, they all fell! Without any tugging or encouragement at all!! They just slid down my back and legs to the bottom of my shower! what the heck is going on?
I got all of them out and all of them off the pro-tacs without a dab of conditioner! Before it took work to get them all out even WITH conditioner?!
So what I noticed was it wouldn't be problems with the hair or the wefts, because all of them were still in the tape, so it's something with me or my hair. But I did everything the same, even waited longer than I usually do with pro-tacs to shower. Am I missing something??
Geez, I feel so bummed! I love pro-tacs so much, they were like a gift to heaven for me, and now I can't use them?!
So fortunately it is my day off, so I will be able to go to the store, try to pick just a little bit more bohyme, and I will try to re-install. Since the last couple of times I have had probs with pro-tac, I am going to see if I can find any LG around me.
Sorry so long, I am just so frustrated! I have no idea what could be going wrong!?!
